If you're suffering from Continental Cup hangover, don't fret - there's more curling on tv this weekend! It's time for " The Dominion All-Star Curling Skins Game ". Quite a mouthful. It will run Saturday Jan. 19 to Sunday Jan. 20 at Casino Rama in Ontario. What's different this year is the way the teams were selected - the public voted on individual players for each position. Here's who you voted for: Skips: Kevin Martin, Kevin Koe, Jeff Stoughton, Glenn Howard Thirds: John Morris, Pat Simmons, Jon Mead, B.J. Neufeld Seconds: March Kennedy, Carter Ryroft, Reid Carruthers, Brent Laing Leads: Ben Hebert, Nolan Thiessen, Steve Gould, Craig Savill Besides B.J. The 2013 Continental Cup of Curling starts this week! It's taking place in Penticton, BC, from January 10-13. It's a super fun event - North America vs The World - and they'll play the men's, women's, skins, mixed doubles and singles (hot shots). I was fortunate to attend in 2011 so can vouch that it's fun to watch. Since the competition is a bit different and the teams are part of bigger teams it's a good time all around. Time for another Grand Slam curling event - on tv of course. The Canadian Open  ( also here ) will run from Dec 12-16 in Kelowna, BC. Teams include: Cotter, de Cruz, Epping, Fowler, Gushue, Higgs, Howard, Jacobs, Kean, Koe, Laycock, Lyburn, Martin, McEwen, Menard, Pierce, Rumfeldt, and Stoughton. Broadcast Schedule is here - looks like it's all on Sportsnet (no CBC this time?)! There's 2 games on Thursday - Saturday and the final goes Sunday. Big story all ready is that Martin wont be there because he's having hernia surgery. Should that excuse his performance at the Canada Cup? Yes. But...no comment. Also, I can't find an event specific website (and I even used all my fancy librarian skills). The Masters had a website, but there appears to be no "grand slam" website like their used to be. Fortunately Sportsnet  (slick looking site!) and the World Curling Tour will have all the info you need. And I can't find a title sponsor, but other sponsors are here...

 First Season of Champions curling event of the season on TV this week!! Excited?! The Capital One Canada Cup runs Wednesday, November 28 to Sunday, December 2 in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan - and you can catch all the action on TSN! Winner of the men's and women's event get a ticket to the Roar of the Rings curling trials ahead of the Olympics! Oh October. Curling season. Must mean good times ahead!!
