Book Review: AsapSCIENCE: Answers to the World's Weirdest Questions, Most Persistent Rumors, and Unexplained Phenomena

I've subscribed to and watched the AsapSCIENCE youtube channel for years now. I like the easy to understand, bite sized, super interesting and visually appealing format, and find Mitch and Greg quite adorable really. Take a look...

So of course I was going to read their book!

AsapSCIENCE: Answers to the World's Weirdest Questions, Most Persistent Rumors, and Unexplained Phenomena

By Mitchell Moffit and Greg Brown

2015

256 pages

This book did not disappoint this long time fan. It covers tons of topics (body stuff, sex, zombies, swearing, dreaming etc) by presenting really short (just a few pages) bits of information in easy to digest paragraphs and language, just like their videos. In fact, I could actually hear Mitch reading the words on the page as it was completely written in their familiar tone. So yeah, I learned stuff. Time well spent.

My only complaint was the use of colour on the page. Writing was in black, and the cartoonish drawings were in black, white, and...blue? I'm sure there was a printing ink reason for this, but I found it a bit, I don't know, boring? I get that they wanted to use colour, like in their videos, and the drawings do resemble the whiteboard markers of the videos, but I missed the full spectrum of colours. Silly and nit picky but there you go.

I'd recommend this to any AsapSCIENCE youtube fan and to everyone who like popular science books. And subscribe to the AsapSCIENCE youtube channel!

Top 5 Reasons to Read Top 5s

Might as well start this blog off with a little self-explanation. You know this game. The one where you name your top five favorite such-and-such. You've played it on long car trips or just because. Then you all read your lists to each other and compare. So why should you read mine? 5) Because it'll be funny. Or at least good for a chuckle. 4) You get a free peek into a stranger's demented brain. People eat that shit up, right? 3) Come on. It'll take, like, five minutes. 2) Top 5s are hip. Don't you want to be hip? 1) Because why not, that's why.

2017 Fantasy Nascar Picks (Texas)

Welcome to TimersSports Fantasy Nascar Picks - Yahoo - A: Start - Kyle Busch Bench - Martin Truex Jr Reasons - I don't really have a prefer driver here, but I am going with Kyle Busch because I have more starts with him. That is really the only reason I am going with him over Truex Jr. Otherwise, I think they are both pretty close. B: Start - Kyle Larson, Ryan Blaney Bench - Chase Elliott, Clint Bowyer Reasons -I wanted to go with Larson and Elliott, but things worked out okay overall though. I can save my Elliott start from Homestead now. And use Blaney here instead. I think Elliott has a better car, but I won't risk it with him starting so deep in the field. Kurt Busch is the best start-save option in the field for Sunday's race. I also like Ricky Stenhouse Jr as a deep sleeper, too. I also think Jamie Mac will better than he has shown so far this weekend. C: Start - Erik Jones Bench - Ty Dillon Reasons - Heading into the playoffs, I thought that Texas was the place for E...
